Washington: In a major breakthrough towards ending hostilities in Gaza, Egypt, Türkiye, Qatar, and the United States have officially signed the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement. The agreement aims to ensure an immediate ceasefire, facilitate humanitarian aid, and lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region.
During the signing ceremony, U.S. President Donald Trump described it as a "historic day", stating:“The Gaza peace agreement is a major step toward establishing peace in the Middle East. It was made possible through the cooperation of our partner nations.”
He further added“We have never seen such a successful day before. Egypt played a pivotal role in making this agreement happen.”
President Trump also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the region“We seek long-term peace and stability in the Middle East, and we will work together to rebuild Gaza.”
