Repair of submarine cable, internet service may be affected today
Repair process is likely to continue for 18 hours

The international cable consortium will start repairing the fiber optic cable in the sea from today, due to which the internet service will be affected for 18 hours.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the international cable consortium has released a schedule for repairing the repeater installed in the sea cable.
PTCL has announced that due to a fault in the undersea internet cable, internet service across the country may be affected for 18 hours from Wednesday.
According to a PTCL spokesperson, a technical problem has arisen in one of the company’s submarine cables. This part, called the “repeater,” has been damaged, for which maintenance work will start from 11:00am today.
The spokesperson said that the repair process is likely to continue for 18 hours, during which there may be a decrease in the internet speed and partial disruption in the service.
PTCL has apologized to customers for the temporary inconvenience, saying that internet service will return to normal after the fault is resolved.
