Police say gold was recovered from Waheed Billa, husband of Rida, who is identified as mastermind of case

Abbottabad: A major development has emerged in the kidnapping and murder case of Dr Wardah, as police have recovered gold from the possession of the prime suspect’s husband.
Police said the gold was recovered from Waheed Billa, the husband of Rida, who is identified as the mastermind of the case.
According to police, 10 receipts related to the gold were also seized from the suspects. On the suspects’ identification, the murder weapon—a rope used to strangle Dr Wardah—was recovered. Police further stated that cheques worth Rs123 million were also found in the suspects’ possession.
It is recalled that Dr Wardah had entrusted 67 tolas of gold to her friend Rida for safekeeping. The accused allegedly took Dr Wardah along under the pretext of returning the gold.
Dr Wardah was abducted from outside a hospital on December 4, and her body was found four days later at the Lari Banota area.
So far, four suspects, including Rida and her husband, have been arrested in the case.
The arrested suspects—Rida, her husband Waheed, Nadeem, and Parvez—were produced before a special Anti-Terrorism Court after completion of their six-day physical remand. The court subsequently sent Rida and Waheed to jail on judicial remand.
