May 9: Yasmin Rashid, Mahmoodur Rashid, others sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment each in two more cases
The court sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood ur Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, and Ejaz Chaudhry to ten years of imprisonment each

Lahore: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Javed announced the verdict in the cases related to the burning of vehicles in Gulberg and a container at Kalma Chowk while incarcerated at Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The court sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood ur Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, and Ejaz Chaudhry to ten years of imprisonment each.
These sentences were awarded after the charges were proven against the accused for setting vehicles on fire in Lahore’s Gulberg area and burning a container at Kalma Chowk.
However, the court acquitted 22 accused in the Gulberg vehicles-burning case, while 5 accused were acquitted in the Kalma Chowk container-burning case.
Charge sheets in these cases were submitted by the Gulberg and Nasirabad police stations. In the Gulberg case, the police nominated 33 accused in the challan, and four accused, including Mian Aslam Iqbal, were declared proclaimed offenders.
Similarly, the Nasirabad police submitted a challan against 36 accused. In this case as well, 12 accused, including Mian Aslam Iqbal, were declared proclaimed offenders.
