Karachi: The Indian Coast Guard seized a Pakistani fishing vessel in the Arabian Sea and detained nine Pakistani fishermen on board.
According to reports, around 500 kilograms of fish and fishing equipment were found on the boat and subsequently confiscated by Indian authorities.
The in-charge of the Coastal Media Center stated that the detained fishermen belong to Ibrahim Hyderi in Karachi. No illegal or suspicious items were recovered from the vessel.
The incident occurred in open waters near the Indian state of Gujarat, when the Pakistani fishermen were operating within their traditional fishing grounds.
The official added that further investigations are underway.
