Rawalpindi: Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, visited Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) along with senior ministers. Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warmly received the Uzbek president and his delegation and hosted them during the visit.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Uzbek president was briefed on GIDS’s diverse defence and industrial portfolio, which included advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities, and technological innovations.

The ISPR spokesperson said that the visiting delegation toured various key facilities of GIDS and observed locally manufactured defence products, reflecting Pakistan’s growing expertise in defence production and industrial development.
During the visit, Pakistan and Uzbekistan expressed their shared commitment to further expanding cooperation in the fields of defence, technology, and industry. Both sides emphasized the importance of partnerships, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of joint ventures.
The ISPR added that the Uzbek president’s visit to GIDS was described as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and exploring new avenues of cooperation in various sectors.
