Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia and met with the Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman.

According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting both leaders discussed the seriousness of the security situation created by drone and missile attacks on the Kingdom and the joint measures to counter it under the strategic mutual defense agreement.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that unprovoked aggression undermines ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region and reduces the chances of peaceful resolution of conflicts.

According to the ISPR spokesperson, both sides also expressed the hope and expectation that the brotherly country Iran would demonstrate wisdom and foresight, avoid miscalculations, and strengthen the efforts of friendly countries working toward a peaceful resolution of the crisis.

The spokesperson added that on the Saudi side, Saudi Chief of General Staff General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili and the Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif were also present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani delegation included Major General Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Secretary to Field Marshal Asim Munir.
