Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world, describing the festival as a symbol of hope, compassion, and the triumph of good over evil.

According to details, the President in his message stated that principles such as equality, freedom, and protection are firmly upheld in Pakistan, and the Constitution reflects these values. He appreciated the contributions of the Christian community in various sectors including education, healthcare, and defense, and reaffirmed the commitment to safeguarding the life, property, and dignity of minorities.

He further emphasized that tolerance, respect, and a sense of responsibility are essential for building a strong society, while also paying tribute to the services of prominent Christian figures in the country’s history.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, said that Easter conveys the message of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and interfaith harmony. He noted that the Christian community is playing an active role in the country’s development and reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of all citizens, particularly minorities.

In his statement, the Prime Minister added that religious harmony and cultural diversity form the foundation of national unity and a welfare state, urging the nation to work together for progress and prosperity.
