Lahore: More than 2,700 Sikh pilgrims from India have arrived in Pakistan via the Wagah border to participate in the Baisakhi festival.
The Sikh pilgrims received a warm and grand welcome at the Wagah border upon their arrival.
Excellent arrangements were made for the pilgrims at the border, including langar (community meals), transportation, and immediate medical assistance.
The pilgrims expressed that the hospitality of the Pakistani people truly warmed their hearts.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, stated that they are peace-loving people and that Pakistan’s doors are always open for Sikhs.
After staying for a few days in Nankana Sahib, the pilgrims will depart for Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, where the main Baisakhi ceremony will be held on April 14.
Later, the pilgrims will also visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur and Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, before returning on April 19.
