Qatari Prime Minister contacts Shehbaz Sharif, discusses evolving regional situation
Both leaders emphasized the importance of constructive engagement among all parties for the success of peace efforts in the region.


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call today from the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which the two leaders held detailed discussions on the evolving regional situation and ongoing peace efforts.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the conversation reviewed developments related to regional peace and stability.
During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar and appreciated Qatar’s continuous and steadfast support for the promotion of peace.
The statement added that both leaders emphasized the importance of constructive engagement among all parties for the success of peace efforts in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and said that he looks forward to the Amir’s upcoming visit to Pakistan. He stated that the visit would further expand and strengthen the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday the Qatari Prime Minister met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, during which discussions were held regarding a ceasefire with Iran and related negotiations.
