PM Shehbaz Sharif says Field Marshal played Key Role in de-escalation and peace efforts

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Field Marshal Asim Munir made day and night efforts to de-escalate tensions, reduce the flames of war, and promote peace during the Iran–US dialogue process.

Addressing the National Assembly, the Prime Minister also thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying that he played an important role in facilitating and advancing negotiations for the peace agreement.

He said that this is a historic moment for Pakistan and a matter of pride for every citizen, adding that the world has witnessed a great victory for peace through these efforts.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that he would be incomplete without mentioning Field Marshal Asim Munir, who consistently worked day and night for peace and to ease tensions. He said the Field Marshal never lost courage, and without such sincerity and wisdom, the journey toward peace might not have been possible. He added that the entire nation pays tribute to him.

The Prime Minister also welcomed Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam to the National Assembly and described the moment as one of national pride achieved through perseverance and wisdom.

He further praised the Deputy Prime Minister’s efforts in the peace process and acknowledged the role of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

He said the war had severe impacts on the global economy as well as Pakistan’s economy, and assured that the government would ensure the benefits of global economic stability reach every citizen.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the people of all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, stating that this success belongs to the entire nation and highlights Pakistan’s role as a supporter of peace, stability, and dialogue.

He added that the Pakistani people supported the government during difficult times and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the peace agreement would bring economic relief to every household.
