Lahore police arrest two for allegedly raping woman, her daughter

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar told a presser that sexual assault of children and women could not be tolerated at any cost and strict action would be taken against the criminals involved.

Two accused involved in rape assault of a 35-year-old and her 15-year-old daughter were arrested by Lahore police within few hours after the crime attempt.

Giving details, CCPO Dogar the victim woman, a resident of Tehsil Melsi district Vehari informed police through 15 call that the accused rickshaw driver and his aide gang raped her and her daughter when they reached Lahore via bus.

They took ride on a rickshaw with  registration number (LEU-4882) at Thokar Niaz Baig bypass at 10pm last night to go to her sister Shamim house at Sadar Cantt Board Officers Colony.

The rickshaw driver identified afterwards as Umar Farooq along with his companion Mansab Ali, instead of taking them to Saddar took them to a deserted plot near LDA avenue and forcefully raped her and her daughter Iram there.

Accused rapists suffocated their throats and threatened them to keep quiet during their assault. They looted from her rupees 05 thousands and victims mobile as well. The rapists fleed from the scene on the arrival of a car leaving their riksha on the spot.

The victim called at helpline 15 and Chung police immediately responded, registered an FIR and started investigation.Capital City Police Officer Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar took notice of the incidence and directed concerned officers to take action for the arrest of the culprits.

Accused Umar Farooq was arrested early morning on Monday and his helper Mansab Ali was arrested till noon same day. The accused  Umar has previous record history in rape cases at PS Nawab Town and PS Haveli Lakha district Okara.

The culprits have been shifted to CIA Kotwali for further investigation. The city police chief said police has added that the Chung gang rape incident could create hype as a bit similar to Motorway gang rape case, however Lahore police remained successful in solving the case in record time and arresting  the accused.

He lauded the performance of DSP Chung Circle and his team for speedy action. He informed that other  relevant sections including 392 in the already registered  FIR.

Dogar said the geo fencing of the possible suspect on Ching Gi Rikshaw lady molestation case is under process and legal evidence are ensured in this regard. 

Talking about the Greater Iqbal Park lady molestation case, DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal said as many as 130 suspects have been taken into custody so far and investigation is in process on modern line of action.

He further said challan of the  involved accused will be put as soon as the process of identification by the victim lady Ayesha Akram and her companion is completed through the court.
