UN shortlists two Pakistani police officers for Policy Coordination Officer's slot
Lahore: The United Nations (UN) has recently shortlisted two police officers from Pakistan for the post of Policy Coordination Officer (P-4) at its headquarters under the phase 1 of the 2020 Police Secondment Permanent Mission.


Deputy Inspector General of Police Captain (retired) Muhammad Faisal Rana, incumbent Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer, and DIG Kamran Adil have been shortlisted out of around 100 police officers who had applied from Pakistan for the UNHQ-based positions.
As many 28 officers from Punjab had applied for the UN posts.

Usually police officers from across the globe apply for five positions at the Police Division, Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions, the United Nations Headquarters, New York.
"The UN Secretariat will now approach the candidates directly regarding the arrangements for an assessment(s). Upon the success of assignment(s), the final appointment will be subject to further screening including a reference check," says a written correspondence, a copy of which is available with GNN.
The UN Secretariat will now review the CV, essay and career postings of the shortlisted officers and detailed interview before taking final decision.
