General Bajwa, British foreign secretary discuss Afghanistan, regional security, bilateral ties
Rawalpindi: British foreign secretary Dominic Raab called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the GHQ on late Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the matters relating to Afghanistan, regional security and bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK) came under discussion.
Both sides agreed on enhancing bilateral relations in different fields. They stressed to enhance cooperation in areas of defence, training and anti-terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, the Army chief said Pakistan wanted durable peace in Afghanistan and fully supported the consensus govenment representing all Afghans factions and Afghanis.
Raab lauded Pakistan's efforts in tackling the coronavirus pandemic. Both sides vowed to enhance cooepration in tackling coronavirus pandemic and maintain regional peace.
