Islamabad: The intelligence chiefs of Pakistan, Iran, Russia, China, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan gave their joint resolve to not abandon Afghanistan in the world.


"Afghanistan and it's people can not be left alone in current circumstances," the virtual sitting of intelligence chiefs observed.
Sources said the meeting presided over by director general Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed discussed in detail the situation in Afghanistan after Taliban's take over and regional security.
The ISI DG hosted the conference.
The participants also discussed the establishment of Taliban-led Afghan government and its long lasting impact on the region, and security situation in Afghanistan.
The intelligence chiefs also agreed on intelligence sharing mechanism. The presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, differences between Daesh and Taliban and ultimiate consequences and presence of Al-qaeda were also discussed.
Sources said Iran and Tajikistan conveyed their reservations during the meeting. Iran was told that its reservations had already been conveyed to the Taliban leadership.
The intelligence heads would present the recommendations of the meeting to their governments.
