Faisalabad: Four marriage halls were sealed over violation of coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the city on Sunday.

According to details, Assistant Commissioners (AC) Umar Maqbool and Ayub Bukhari visited all marriage halls in their respective jurisdictions and found four of them violating SOPs. The premises of halls were sealed instantly.
Moreover, cases were registered against 18 wedding halls for not complying with SOPs.
It is pertinent to mention here that government put a limit on timings and number of guests as marriage halls emerged as hotspots of Covid-19 spread after they were reopened from lockdown in September, 2020.
As per revised guidelines issued by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), all guests have to maintain six feet distance while wearing masks and sanitizers all the time. Moreover, only 300 guests are allowed for indoor gatherings and 500 individuals for outdoor gatherings and the event would last for two hours, wrapping up by 10 pm.
Marriage halls found violating SOPs are warned heavy fine and closure for a specified period of time.
Meanwhile, the country has reported 48 coronavirus deaths and 1,594 new positive cases in one day.
