Washington: The United States of America (USA) announced a $64 million humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.


On Monday, a press release was issued by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) according to which the USAID and the US state department will provide funding that would be disseminated through several United Nations (UN) agencies and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan are germinating and to hamper that aggravation it is being decided that the USAID will provide funds for 18 million Afghans.
As per the press release, this additional humanitarian assistance will provide vulnerable Afghans with critically needed food, health care, nutrition, medical supplies, protection, hygiene supplies, and other urgently needed relief.
The USAID is the largest donor in Afghanistan and has provided $330 million this year.
"We will continue to help alleviate the suffering of the Afghan people and call on other donors to step up their contributions to help deliver critical assistance directly to the people of Afghanistan," said the USAID.
