The President of France Emmanuel Macron enraged over the United States (US), Australia, and the United Kingdom (UK) trilateral pact to contain China recalled its ambassadors to the US and Australia.

"At the request of the President of the Republic, I have decided to immediately recall our two ambassadors to the United States and Australia to Paris for consultations," French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a statement.
France is infuriated with Australia calling it a “backstab” because Australia scrapped the $40 Billion worth submarine deal with France's Naval Group to build a fleet of conventional submarines and would instead build at least eight nuclear-powered submarines with U.S. and British technology after striking a trilateral security partnership.
Earlier, the trio (US, UK, Australia) inked a deal for cooperation in halting the expanding power of China which was utterly rebuked by the Chinese officials.
Even China has said that Australia is now our “Adversary”.
In this vein, The U.S. and U.K. will also assist Canberra in acquiring nuclear-powered submarines, which will allow Australia’s navy to help counter Chinese nuclear-powered vessels in the region.
“This will give Australia the capability for their submarines to basically deploy for longer periods, they’re quieter, they’re much more capable, they will allow us to sustain and to improve deterrence across the Indo-Pacific,” a senior administration official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity said ahead of the president’s remarks.
It is pertinent to note here that the US, UK and Australia are envisaging to deepen the cooperation in contemporary security arenas like cyber, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
Canada and New Zealand already share extensive intelligence with the trio through the Five Eyes alliance.
