Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for a solution to the decades-old Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan on the basis of the United Nations resolutions while addressing the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

“We maintain our stance in favour of solving the ongoing problem in Kashmir for 74 years, through dialogue between the parties and within the framework of relevant United Nations resolutions,” says Tayyab Erdogan.

Turkey has time and again raised the Kashmir issue at the sessions of the UNGA.

Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, secretary-general of Washington-based advocacy group World Kashmir Awareness Forum appreciated the comments of the Turkish President.

"They demand and they deserve peace," said Dr Ghulam.
