ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Statistics has released weekly inflation figures
According to the statistics agency, weekly inflation in the country declined by 0.07 per cent overall, while prices of 20 essential commodities rose and remained stable at 21 during the last week. The weekly average inflation rate in the country was 13.88 per cent while for low income people it was 16.25 per cent.
As per the Bureau of Statistics, the rise in prices of ghee, rice, eggs, sugar and live poultry could not be halted. Whereas, the price per kg was Rs 62.38.
According to the report, the price of ghee went up by 59 paise per kg last week and the average price of ghee went up by Rs 345.70 per kg while eggs went up by Rs 2.98 per dozen and reached Rs 178.92 per dozen.
Moreover, beef became expensive by 88 paise per kg, mutton by Rs 1.39 per kg and live chicken by 29 paise per kg.
Furthermore, the price of a domestic cylinder of LPG increased by Rs 9.41 last week and the price of a domestic cylinder rose to Rs 1927.30.
As per report, the price of fresh milk increased by 14 paise per liter, the prices of 10 items decreased during the last week, a 20 kg bag of flour became cheaper by Rs 20 while the average price of a dozen bananas increased by Rs 5. Garlic became cheaper by 93 paise, garlic by Rs5.75 per kg and onion by Rs2.74 per kg. Lentils, lentils, lentils, lentils and potatoes are also among the cheaper items.
