Pakistan’s COVID positivity rate stays below 4% for fifth consecutive day

Islamabad: Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity rate is less than 4% for the fifth consecutive day, government data showed Wednesday morning.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than the previous three COVID waves. Today, the daily positivity rate in-country is at 3.19%.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,560 cases of coronavirus were reported while 52 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 27,690.

The total number of cases has reached 1,243,385.

As many as 1,167,189 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,948 critical cases.

Punjab    

The number of patients swelled to 430,353 in the province with 12,595 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 456,897 in the province, while the death toll has reached 7,379.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 173,548 in the province with 5,525 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 32,888 confirmed cases while 348 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 34,101 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 737. On the other hand, there are 10,311 cases in GB with 184 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 105,287 cases in the capital city while 922 people have lost their lives.
