The government has reduced sales tax on petrol by Rs3.61 paise and high-speed diesel by Rs10 per litre.

As per the sources, sales tax on petrol was reduced from Rs11.76 paise to Rs 8.15 paise per litre.
Whereas, the sales tax on high-speed diesel was reduced from Rs12.52 paise to Rs11.42 paise per litre.
The government has not changed the levy on petrol and high-speed diesel.
Sources said that the levy on petrol has been maintained at Rs5.62 per litre and the levy on high-speed diesel at Rs5.14 paise per litre.
