Karachi: The team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has failed to arrest Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and returned empty handed after 15 hours due to resistance from his guards and protests by supporters of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
As per details, the NAB team stormed Agha Siraj Durrani’s residence yesterday at 4 pm to arrest him after the Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected his bail plea.

Siraj Durani’s son Shahbaz Durrani came out of house and spoke to the media, saying his father is not at home.
His son said that they will not let any male official to go inside—demanding them to bring a valid search warrant with a female official.
“We will not allow to violate the sanctity of the house”, he added.
As per reports, a large number of his supporters gathered outside his house and stayed at the venue the whole night— foiling NAB’s attempt to apprehend Durrani.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the reference filed by NAB, besides Agha Siraj Durrani his wife three daughters and son Shahbaz Durrani have also been named. A total of 18 suspects are nominated in the reference.
Among the accused, Tufail Ahmed Shah, Metha Khan, Shamshad Khatun, Aslam Pervez Lankha, Zulfiqar Ali Dahar, Gulzar Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, Syed Muhammad, Ghulam Murtaza, Gul Bihar Lohar Baloch, Munawar Ali and Muhammad Irfan have been included.
