Islamabad: Federal Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has notified Social Media Rules 2021 which stated to prohibit streaming of hateful, abusive, extremist, and terrorist content on social media.

According to details, Federal Information Technology (IT) minister Amin ul Haq said that social media companies have to follow Social Media Rules 2021.
Amin ul Haq said that social media companies will be bound to remove the derogatory content against Pakistan’s integrity and sovereignty.
He said that exhibition and promotion of immoral and obscene material would be a felony.
