Naomi Osaka defeated world No. 24 Jennifer Brady in straight sets on Saturday to lift the 2021 Australian Open women's title.

Osaka opened the match with a service win however the first set proved to be a tough one with Brady breaking back after Naomi Osaka broke her to take a 3-1 lead. Osaka double faulted at deuce to hand the break to Brady. Osaka trailed behind 15-40 but was finally able to break Brady's serve and claim the first set 6-4.
The second set was the polar opposite, with Osaka taking charge in the beginning, breaking Brady's serve twice to lead 4-0. Brady then broke Osaka to bring the lead down to 4-1, then held her own to trail at 4-2. Both players then held serve to bring the game to 5-3 when Osaka finally won the set and the match with a serving game at love.
Naomi Osaka came into the tournament as the world No. 3, but may now land at the No. 1 spot after defeating Serena Williams and claiming the grand slam.
This is Osaka's fourth grand slam win.
