BTS Jin’s “Yours” becomes 1st Korean OST to debut on Spotify Global chart

Seoul: “Yours” by BTS’ vocalist Kim Seokjin broke multiple worldwide records in less than 24 hours since its release. The soundtrack became the only Korean OST ever to debut at number 45 on the Global Spotify chart with over 1.4 million streams.

The solo song debuted at #45 on the Global Spotify chart despite having only 15 tracking hours on the platform.

The soundtrack 'Yours' has the highest debut streams for an OST. All of it was achieved without any rigorous promotion.

The OST was also not available in Japan to be streamed on Spotify, eliminating a big territory that would have added to its total.

With the unbelievable feat, Jin became 3rd Korean artist after BTS and AgustD to debut on the Global Spotify chart.

The soundtrack gained millions of positive comments from fans and the general public.

The news was confirmed by Spotify Korea and the World Music Awards before Spotify Korea's official announcement.

It must be noted that this is the only OST to debut on the global charts.

Interestingly, this is Jin's first OST as a BTS member. Before this, the star had worked on very selective projects throughout his career.

Moreover, the song also debuted #1 on iTunes worldwide chart. The song followed suit of the earlier released songs such as Awake, Epiphany, Moon, and Abyss in terms of themes and emotions.

Jin's “Yours” was also termed as the main OST for the show starring Gianna Jun and Ju Ji Hoon.

“Yours” is the OST for the Korean series “Jirisan” which depicts the story of rangers and other employees of the Jirisan National Park who climb through the mysterious and unexplored regions of the mountain.
