Beaver Island plane crash leaves child as only survivor

Michigan: A plane crash on Beaver Island has left four dead and a little girl as the lone survivor.

According to initial reports, the plane went down at an airport on Beaver Island, located west of Mackinaw City.

Miraculously, the 11-year-old is said to be the only survivor and hospitalized as she sustained severe injuries in the crash on Beaver Island, in Lake Michigan.

US Coast Guard officials confirmed the crash of a single-engine commuter plane.

A Coast Guard helicopter out on training received the emergency transmission from Beaver Island.
