Domestic users to get gas only during cooking hours


Islamabad: Domestic consumers in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will now get gas will only get gas during cooking hours in winter.
According to details, The Ministry of Petroleum and the Sui Northern Gas Private Limited Company (SNGPL) have formulated a new gas load shedding schedule in order to meet natural gas shortages in the country.
As per schedule, gas will be available to the users in the morning from 5.30 am to 8 am, in lunchtime the gas will supply will continue from 11 am to 2 pm and in the evening the domestic users can use their gas stokes from 4 pm to 10 pm in the night.
The new schedule will be enforced from December to February, said the sources
Earlier this week, The Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar Friday said that gas for domestic users would be provided three times a day including breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the winter.
In order to meet natural gas shortages in the country, the Federal Minister said that domestic consumers will be supplied gas thrice a day for cooking only.
Hammad said that gas is being supplied to domestic consumers on a priority basis and efforts are being made to supply gas to both the domestic well as industrial sectors.
According to the energy minister, the gas reserves in the country have depleted from 2000 Million Cubic Feet per Day (MMCFD) in 2010 to 800 MMCFD this year.
