Radd-ul-Fassad was launched to restore peace and people’s faith in state: DG ISPR
Rawalpindi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Major General Babar Iftikhar is has said that operation Radd-ul-Fassad was launched four years ago to restore peace and people’s faith in state.
While addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi about achievements in counter-terrorism measures taken by the forces in recent times, DG ISPR said that operation the operation was launched under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on 22 February 2017.
“Radd-ul-Fassad was not area specific domain extended to the entire country. Aim of this operation was a peaceful and stable Pakistan where terrorists are rendered completely ineffective and people's confidence in the state is restored,” he said.
DG ISPR, while terming every Pakistani a soldier of Radd-ul-Fassad, said that terrorism and extremism can only be defeated if everyone from civil law enforcement agencies and society fight against it altogether.
Major General Baber Iftikhar said that Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched through a two-pronged strategy involving counterterrorism domain and counter violent extremism.
“The counter counterterrorism plan was launched in a bit to ensure that power is the privilege of the state only and to end terrorists' network across the country,” he said.
DG ISPR said that efforts were to implement National Action Plan and bring the tribal areas into the national mainstream.
