Pakistan reports 216 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths
Islamabad: The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic has continued its downward trajectory as Pakistan's coronavirus positivity ratio further fell to 0.64 per cent, which is all-time lowest ever recorded since March last year, with 216 new cases over the past 24 hours
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 216 fresh cases emerged while 6 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 28,618.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than the previous three COVID waves.
The total number of cases has reached 1,280,092.
As many as 1,228,848 patients have recovered from the disease.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 441,965 in the province with 12,980 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 473,250 in the province, while the death toll has reached 7,604.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 179,190 in the province with 5,801 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 33,408 confirmed cases while 358 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 34,514 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 741. On the other hand, there are 10,401 cases in GB with 186 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 107,364 cases in the capital city while 948 people have lost their lives.
