Five including two TTP commanders killed in Waziristan: ISPR

Rawalpindi: Five terrorists including two commanders of Tehreek-i-Talibab Pakistan (TTP) were killed by security forces in North Waziristan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Sunday.

Syed Rahim alias Abid of TTP 's AKK group and Saifullah Noor of Gohar group were killed in two intelligence based operations  in Mir Ali and Khaisur area. Rahim alias Abid had been involved in 17 terrorist attacks on security forces since 2007. He was also in-charge of two suicide bombing centers in Wana and Mir Ali. ISPR further confirmed that Raheem was tasked by hostile agencies to carry out target killings, recruiting and organising new terrorists.

 Rahim had also carried out terrorist activities between November 2020 and January 2021, including the killings of four Maliks three engineers in a company in North Waziristan.

 Along with Rahim, Saifullah Noor was involved in multiple IED attacks on security forces.

 A week earlier, security forces had killed two terrorists, Usman Ali and Waheed, in South Waziristan. Both terrorists, who belonged to TTP's Sajna group were killed during an intelligence based operation in Nargosa. Another terrorist was injured during an intense exchange of fire.

On January 14, three soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan after securing forces carried out two operations against terrorist hideouts.
