Army chief, British ambassador discuss regional stability including Afghanistan situation
General Bajwa re-emphasized that “Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan".


Rawalpindi: UK’s Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) Mr Nigel Casey called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday, said a statement released by the ISPR.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation including the recent developments in Afghanistan were discussed.
The army chief said that Pakistan appreciates UK’s role in maintaining international and regional relations and looks forward to enhancing the bilateral relationship between both countries.
The COAS also reiterated the need for global convergence on Afghanistan for avoiding humanitarian crisis and coordinated efforts for the economic uplift of the Afghan people.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's role in the Afghan situation, special efforts for border management, role in regional stability and pledged to play his part for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
