"There's no need for lockdowns," Biden said.

New York: The United States president Joe Biden said the coronavirus omicron transformation does not cause panic. US President has urged people to get booster shots and wear masks indoors as scientists study the omicron variant.
The virus transformation initially observed in South Africa has sown fear around the world, and numerous Western countries have, among other things, blocked entry from several southern African countries.
In a speech at the White House, US President Joe Biden said that the US would "face the new threat just as we have faced those that have come before it."However, Biden does not see that the omicron will have to resort to new coronavirus varient locks or travel restrictions, at least for the time being.
The president also encouraged people to wear masks indoors so that the country could continue on its path to normality. He urged everyone over the age of five to get their vaccines and acquire boosters six months after their second dose.
"If people are vaccinated and wear their mask, there's no need for lockdowns," Biden said.
The US was one of the first countries to cut air travel links with southern African countries, where the variant was first detected last week.
