Johnson and Johnson’s ‘single-shot’ coronavirus vaccine declared safe and effective
Washington: The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has declared single-shot coronavirus vaccine as safe and effective.

According to details, the review by FDA has paved the way for the jab to become the third coronavirus vaccine to be authorized in the United States (US) within days.
Johnson and Johnson’s vaccine is said to be a cost-effective alternative to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and there is an option to store it in refrigerator instead of a freezer.
Last month, the results of trails were released by Johnson & Johnson which showed that the vaccine is quite effective in reducing both severe and symptomatic illness.
The company says it plans to deliver 20 million doses in total by late March, in line with an agreement to supply the US with 100m doses by the end of June.
The development has come as country is still struglling to contain the spread of novel coronavirus with 28,974,623 cases and 518,363 deaths.
So far United Kingdom (UK) has ordered 30 million doses of Johnson and Johnson jab, EU 200 million doses, Canada 38 million doses and Covax nations has ordered 500 million doses.
