Khaqan Abbasi accuses ‘PM and his ministers’ of being involved in alleged rigging in Daska
Karachi: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan has accuded Prime Minister Imran Khan and his ministers of being involved in rigging in NA-75 Daska by-poll.
While talking to media on Thursday, Khaqan Abbasi said that no action has been taken by concerned authorities following the violation of public mandate.
“No case has not been registered against those involved in NA-75 rigging. Is it not a crime to kidnap presiding officers? The sanctity of public vote is violated by PM, his ministers and advisers,” he said.
Khaqan Abbasi reiterated his party’s demand to conduct re-election in the entire NA-75 constituency.
“If a former premier can be summoned to court, so should be the ones who stole public votes and mandate. In my opinion, if law and constitution is implemented properly, there is no need of electoral reforms in the country,” he said.
Terming Imran Khan’s government as one of the most corrupt regimes, he alleged that commissions are formed to protect the culprits only.
““Transparency International (TI) has also declared the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as the most corrupt regime,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has halted the results of NA-175 Daska suspecting that the results of 20 polling stations were falsified.
