Pm Khan asked for making party workers active to ensure the party's success in the upcoming local government elections in their areas


Islamabad: Following to upcoming Local Government polls, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed all PTI leaders to take effective steps to make organizational structure of the party strong.
He was talking to Minister for Planning Asad Umar, who is also secretary general of the party, in Islamabad on Monday.
The prime minster also asked for making party workers active to ensure the party's success in the upcoming local government elections in their areas.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, PTI Punjab President and Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, PTI South Punjab President and Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar, PTI Sindh President and Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi, PTI Balochistan President and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri and PTI Additional Secretary General Amir Mehmood Kiani also attended the meeting.
On December 25, PM Imran Khan had announced the new organisational structure for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the responsibilities of party’s secretary general has been given to Asad Umar.
It is pertinent to mention here that this announcement came a day after dissolving all previous bodies within his party following a defeat in the first phase of local government (LG) elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
This news was confirmed by Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry through his official Twitter account.
Fawad Chaudhry said that federal minister Asad Umar had been selected as the secretary general and the following individuals had been named the presidents for various provincial divisions.
Defence Minister Pervez Khattak for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi for Sindh, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri for Balochistan, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood for Punjab and Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar for South Punjab were chosen as presidents of relevant provinces.
