Islamabad: Former President Asif Zardari’s ballot paper was wasted due to trembling of hands, however, it was issued again after which he was able to cast his vote.

According to GNN, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairperson went to the polling booth to cast his vote after he was issued a ballot paper. He was later informed that his ballot paper was wasted due to trembling of his hands.
Zardari requested the Returning Officer to issue the ballot papers again, which was obliged.
Earlier, former president reached National Assembly to cast his vote where he exchanged pleasantries with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif.
PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto, Khawaja Asif and other members were also present on the occasion.
Responding to journalist’s question on Yousaf Raza Gillani’s win in senate polls, he said, “We can only hope from Allah.”
It is pertinent to mention here that polling for 37 seats of the Senate is underway under the supervision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad.
A tough encounter is expected in National Assembly for the Islamabad seat where joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Yusuf Raza Gilani are contesting against ruling party candidate Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
The current strength of lower house is 341 and PTI’s candidate apparently enjoys the support of 180 MNAs.
