Canadian PM Justin Trudeau contracts COVID-19
Many Canadians were outraged by images of some protesters urinating on the National War Memorial and dancing on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, while a number carried signs and flags with swastikas.
Ottawa: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had tested positive for novel coronavirus, yet he is fine and would continue to work remotely from home—following public health guidelines.
According to details, Trudeau went into isolation last week after one of his children tested positive but at the time a rapid test for him came back negative.
"This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. I'm feeling fine – and I'll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines," tweeted Trudeau on Monday.
Moreover, he used a televised virtual press conference to denounce anti-vaccine protesters who filled Canada’s capital to complain about COVID restrictions.

Following the protests, many refused to wear masks in hotels, malls and grocery stores.
Canada has one of the world’s highest rates of vaccination against the coronavirus — shots that are primarily designed to keep those who become infected from falling seriously ill.
Besides the 50-year-old Premier, several Canadian cabinet ministers, including Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, have also come down with COVID-19 in the last few months.
