Google celebrates ‘Lunar New Year’ with fireworks, tiger image
Upon typing, Chinese New Year’ or ‘Lunar New Year’, Google is showing fascinating sparklers associated with the zodiac animal.


Google is celebrating Lunar New Year also known as Chinese New Year, adding fireworks and tiger image in commemoration with ‘Year of the Tiger’.
The Lunar New Year—celebrated by nearly two billion people worldwide started today (February 1) with celebrations that can last for weeks.
Upon typing, Chinese New Year’ or ‘Lunar New Year’, Google is showing fascinating sparklers associated with the zodiac animal.
It is happening because each year is associated with one of the 12 zodiac animals— rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. And the year 2022 is the year of the tiger.
Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations of the year among East and Southeast Asian cultures, including Chinese, Vietnamese and Koreans.
In Mandarin, China’s Lunar New Year is known as the Spring Festival or Chūnjié, while Koreans call it Seollal and Vietnamese refer to it as Tết.
