Pakistan High Commission organizes Pakistan Day reception in Delhi
The guests were treated to traditional Pakistani food and documentaries of Pakistan's beautiful places and national heritage were also showcased.
New Delhi: A reception related to Pakistan Day was organized by the Pakistan High Commission in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
Political leaders, diplomats, business community and civil society representatives including prominent Muslim personalities of Delhi also participated in the reception of Pakistan High Commission.
On this occasion, Regulator of affairs Saad Ahmed Warraich welcomed the distinguished guests at Chancery Lawn and highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day.
Saad Ahmed said in his address that the historic resolution in Lahore on March 23, 1940 became the foundation of Tehreek-e-Pakistan. “Pakistan has made important progress towards strengthening democracy, Pakistan has also made progress towards promoting independent media and active civil society”.
He stated that the founders of Pakistan and India envisioned a cordial relationship between the two countries. Unfortunately, the history of our bilateral relations has been full of challenges.
The era of perpetual conflicts and tensions is not our destiny. Peace and harmony can create a future of hope for the people through mutual respect and the goal of peace and stability in the region can be achieved by promoting mutual understanding, while peace and stability can be established in the region by resolving long-standing conflicts including Jammu and Kashmir, added Regulator of affairs.

CM Punjab approves ‘Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card’
Maryam Nawaz said: “Farmers will get rid of fake fertilizers and medicines, in the first phase a model agriculture center will be built in every district”.
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Friday approved ‘Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card’ in the province during a meeting on agricultural reforms.
In a meeting held on agricultural reforms under the chairmanship of Maryam Nawaz in Lahore, the reorganization of Punjab Seed Corporation, Punjab Agricultural Research Board was reviewed and it was decided to build a research center in Agricultural University Faisalabad with the cooperation of China.
During the meeting, the Agriculture Department was instructed to compile the complete data of production and demand of each crop and approval was also given to create a center of excellence for research and development on cotton, wheat and rice crops.
The meeting reviewed the proposed law to prevent the use of agricultural land for residential purposes and agreed to equip the Agricultural Extension Wing with modern technology and recruit 500 agriculture graduates in the Agricultural Extension Wing.
In the briefing given to the Chief Minister of Punjab during the meeting, it was stated that 24,800 latest agricultural implements will be given to the farmers at a cost of Rs7 billion in two years.
During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz while approving ‘Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card’ said: “Farmers will get rid of fake fertilizers and medicines, in the first phase a model agriculture center will be built in every district”.
According to the announcement of the meeting, 500,000 small farmers will be given a loan of 150 billion in a year on easy terms, Rs30,000 per acre loan will be given for the purchase of the best seeds, fertilizers, pesticides. To stop the sale of fake agricultural drugs and fertilizers, amendments will be made in the Act.
In the released declaration, it was stated that various types of subsidies will also be given through the ‘Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card’. Model Agriculture Centers will be built in collaboration with the private sector across Punjab which will provide the facilities of Genome Center, Germ Plasm Resource, Speed Breeding and Research on Climate Change.

Illegal recruitment case: Parvez Elahi, others summoned for indictment
ACC judge issued a written order in which he has summoned Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused for indictment on April 4.
Lahore: The Anti-Corruption Court (ACC) Lahore has summoned former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused in the case of illegal recruitment.
According to the details, ACC judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta has issued a written order for the previous hearing in which he has summoned Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused for indictment on April 4.
The court wrote in the verdict that the Central Jail Rawalpindi submitted the medical reports of Parvez Elahi that on March 17, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader fell in the washroom and his ribs got fractured.
In the court order, it was further written that the medical officer has advised the former Chief Minister of Punjab to rest for two weeks. The accused was not presented to the court due to which the charge could not be filed.
