Gilgit-Baltistan Super League to be launched soon
“The league will provide more and more opportunities to our youngsters to exhibit their talent”
Islamabad: Gilgit-Baltistan Super League, the biggest festival in GB history will be launched soon with the cooperation of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), GB Markhors owner Jahanzeb Alam said on Saturday.
“The league will provide more and more opportunities to our youngsters to exhibit their talent,” Jahanzeb told media here.
He said the mission of GB Markhors and Markhors Sport was is to rehabilitate hospitals and playgrounds in Pakistan.
“We will establish grounds for cricket and other sport disciplines in GB wherein our athletes will be trained for the Olympics and other prestigious international sport events,” said.
“People in our area have immense potential and soon a new era of sports will begin there,” he added.
GB Markhors became the seventh Kashmir Premier League’s (KPL) in February, this year. Previously, the league consisted of six outfits that featured in its inaugural edition, held at picturesque Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium from August 6-17, 2021. Bagh Stallions, Kotli Lions, Mirpur Royals, Muzaffarabad Tigers, Overseas Warriors, and Rawalakot Hawks appeared in the first edition. But with the induction of GB Markhors, the next KPL edition saw seven outfits vying for the top honors.
