Thought about appointing army chief on merit: Imran Khan
"People should decide who should run the government."
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that he never thought about appointing some of his favorite army chief in November, adding that he thought of making the decision at a right time.
While addressing the seminar titled “Regime Change Conspiracy and Pakistan's Destabilization”, Imran Khan categorically rejected the claim of Nawaz League’s leader Khurram Dastgir against him that he was going to appoint General Faiz Hameed as the new army chief for personal interests.
The PTI chairman explained that controlling the army by appointing a favorable army chief is a problem for Nawaz Sharif to save his corruption ever.
Talking about the country's current economic situation, PTI chairman Imran Khan said that the economy started deteriorating after the regime change and a conspiracy against the government.
He said that the people should decide who should run the government.
Imran Khan said that it was for the first time a government was removed without corruption charges. "The biggest problem being faced by Pakistan is economic and it will have to be resolved," he maintained.
