Allegations of forgery in identity documents, including altered identity cards and passports, by some Pakistani individuals

Islamabad: The reasons for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) visa ban for Pakistanis have been revealed.
According to official documents shared by the UAE government with the Pakistani embassy, the ban was proposed in a cabinet meeting after observing the actions of some Pakistani citizens and reviewing complaints.
The documents said that Pakistani citizens have allegedly been involved in activities considered inappropriate in the UAE, including protests, criticizing the UAE government’s policies on social media, and misusing online platforms. All these actions are tarnishing the image of the UAE.
Furthermore, there are allegations of forgery in identity documents, including altered identity cards and passports, by some Pakistani individuals.
In addition, the document also highlighted involvement in criminal activities such as theft, embezzlement, begging, prostitution, and drug-related crimes, which are allegedly more prevalent among Pakistani citizens than those of other nationalities.
Local authorities conveyed these concerns to the Pakistani ambassador and stressed that the decision to impose visa restrictions was taken after deliberations at the highest levels of the UAE government.
The Pakistani embassy in the UAE has reportedly forwarded these complaints to Islamabad in the form of an official report, which has urged urgent attention to resolving the outstanding issues.
The development has sparked discussions among the Pakistani community in the UAE, many of whom are law-abiding residents and are making a positive contribution to the local economy.
There are growing calls for constructive dialogue and cooperative measures to resolve the issue, as the visa ban is affecting thousands of families and businesses in the UAE that rely on Pakistani workers.
