LHC declares arrest of PTI's Haleem Adil Sheikh illegal
Sheikh was arrested today morning in connection with a graft case
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday declared the arrest of PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh illegal.
LHC has declared the arrest of leader and opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh illegal.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi ordered the release of Sheikh and granted security bail to Haleem Adil Sheikh till July 18.
The Sindh government had written a letter to the Punjab government seeking the help of Punjab police in the arrest.
Haleem Adil Sheikh is accused of forging registration of 63 acres of land in Jamshoro in 1987. A case has been registered against him in Jamshoro Anti-Corruption Police Station.
Haleem Adil Sheikh said in a statement on his arrival at the court that he was a soldier of Imran Khan.
He said that no case was registered when he was not the Leader of the Opposition. After becoming the Leader of the Opposition, 22 cases were registered. The government, immersed in corruption, registered a case of corruption against him. He wrote a letter to Pakistan.
On this occasion, lawyer Haleem Adil Sheikh said that the opposition leader Sindh Assembly has been detained since yesterday. When there was no FIR in the arrest, the FIR was registered at 10.30 am this morning. Lawyer Haleem Adil Sheikh has asked the court to take him to Karachi by plane. Their lives are in danger if they are taken off the road.
It should be noted that Haleem Adil Sheikh was arrested last night by plainclothes men from a private hotel in Lahore.
