At least 22 people were killed in flash floods caused by heavy rains in Iran’s southern province of Fars
Islamabad: The Government and people of Pakistan extended heartfelt condolences to the government and brotherly people of Iran on the loss of precious lives and material damage as a result of floods in the southern Fars province.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured as a result of this natural disaster. We stand in solidarity with the government and people of Iran at this moment of grief.”
At least 22 people were killed in flash floods caused by heavy rains in Iran’s southern province of Fars, a provincial official said.
There was at least one person missing, said Khalil Abdollahi, head of the province’s crisis management department, quoted by the semi-official news agency Tasnim.
He said 55 people had been rescued in the flood which submerged 15 cars. The governor of Fars province declared Sunday a day of mourning, state media said.
