Quetta: A Pakistan Army Aviation helicopter, which was on flood relief operation in Lasbela, Balochistan, has lost contact with Air Traffic Control.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the chopper had six people, including the army general, who commands southern 12 Corps were on board. 

The military did not say how long the helicopter had been missing.

Search operation for the helicopter is underway.

President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed concern over the missing helicopter of Pakistan army in Balochistan.

In a statement, President prayed for safety of Commander 12 Corps and army officers and prayed for the success of the search operation.

In a tweet, the Prime Minisiter said whole nation is praying for the safe return and security of the sons of the soil who were out to help the flood affectees.
