Lightning strike near White House leave four in critical condition
The identities of those injured have not yet been confirmed.
Washington: Four people have been critically injured after being struck by lightning near the White House, officials in the US capital said.
As per details, the lightning struck a small park across the street from the White House, leaving two men and two women with "life-threatening injuries," according to a statement from Washington's fire and emergencies department.
"We were able to quickly treat and transport all four patients and they were all taken to area hospitals," it added.
All the victims have been taken to local hospitals. The identities of those injured have not yet been confirmed.
Photos posted by the department on social media showed multiple ambulances and at least one fire truck with flashing lights working at the scene.
In the wake of the incident, part of the park remained closed, with emergency services at the scene.
