PM Shehbaz-Nawaz meeting: Ishaq Dar to 'assume charge as finance minister on Tuesday'
Sources say incumbent finance minister Miftah Ismail will remain part of the government's economic team

London: PML-N leader and former federal minister Ishaq Dar will assume charge as the finance minister on September 27 (Tuesday), sources said on Saturday.
A decision in this regard was taken during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's meeting with party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah also confimed earlier in the day confirmed that Dar will return to Pakistan next week.
Dar, himself, had said yesterday that he would take oath as a Senator immediately after his return and would perform whatever he was assinged by the premier and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharf.
Sources said Miftah Ismail, the current finance minister, will remain part of the government's economic team.
The two leaders were to discuss the ongoing situation in the country and measures taken by the sitting coalition government, they added.
Moreover, the strategy to deal with PTI Chief Imran Khan’s call for a long march, and ending PTI’s government in Punjab were also expected to be part of the discussion.
The PML-N leaders were also expected to devise a strategy for expediting verdicts in the cases registered against Imran Khan.
