Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday has acquitted Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader and member of National Assembly (MNA) Ali Wazir and 12 others in a terrorism case against them.

According to details, the Karachi court declared Ali Wazir as “innocent”, owing to the lack of solid evidence.

During the proceedings today, Wazir’s lawyer stated that the MNA was arrested from Peshawar in December 2020 and has since spent more than two years in jail.

A case was registered in Sohrab Goth, Karachi against PTM leader and 12 others for delivering speeches inciting hate against the country and national security.

Four similar cases were registered against Ali Wazir and other party members at Sohrab Goth, Shah Latif Town and Boat Basin police stations under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) pertaining to the said charges.

However, the lawyer informed the court that he has been granted bail in all four cases.
