PM asks political forces to work collectively for progress country
Shehbaz Sharif says that the coalition partners have put their political capital on stake for sake of the homeland.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday called for setting aside personal interests to put country on the path of development.
Addressing the review meeting on National Action Plan in Islamabad on Friday, he said political stability was inevitable for economic growth of Pakistan. He regretted that unfortunately, a particular political faction was taking to streets creating instability in the country.
He said, while on the other hand, the coalition partners have put their political capital on stake for sake of the homeland.
Shehbaz Sharif said it was their paramount responsibility to play their role in course correction for the progress and development of the people of Pakistan and they accepted this responsibility. He expressed the confidence that Pakistan will soon come out of prevailing economic crisis.
The Prime Minister hoped that the deal with International Monetary Fund would soon be materialized.
Acknowledging Pakistan's sacrifices in fight against terrorism, he said around eighty-three thousand people have laid down their lives in eradication of this menace.
He said security forces are determined to maintain peace and stability in the country.
Earlier in the day, Political leaders hailing from different areas of the country separately called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
Those who met the Prime Minister included PML-N Balochistan President Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, former Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rahman, Member National Assembly Chaudhry Ehsanul Haque Bajwa and former members of Provincial Assembly Punjab Sufi Akram and Zahid Akram.
They discussed problems related to their respective areas as well as overall political situation of the country.
During meeting with Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, progress on development projects in Balochistan, initiated on the directives of the Prime Minister and positive public response regarding it, were discussed.
